Major Muharem Muharemi Commander of the contingent Senior Sergeant Ali Shabani and Sergant Maja Ugrinovska gave their views of the challenges this rotation faced in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. Six months ago from this very spot I said that we are leaving for a very important and difficult task. There is no happier member of our unit for the fact that we have returned safe and sound. We faced many challenges and life-threatening moments but with our professionalism and a little bit of luck we managed to avoid any losses. The fact that we have executed the tasks on an equal basis along with the members from other NATO countries for ten years speaks for itself. We are de facto though not de jure part of NATO said Major Muharemi. This was the 11th contingent from the Tetovo garrison that has returned from a peace mission. 149 soldiers and officers have been deployed and have returned from the mission in Afghanistan. It was the 21st rotation of Macedonian soldiers in the ISAF mission. In the upcoming six months they will be replaced by their colleagues from Kichevo barracks.
