Settling easily on the deck of the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) the Navy North American Aviation AJ-1 large attack bomber is the heaviest airplane ever to land on a carrier. Navy pilots from Composite Squadron Five (VC-5) in Aug 1950 completed landings and take offs with AJ-1's in carrier operations off the Atlantic Coast. Each weighing over seventeen (17) tons the AJ-1's are powered by one jet and two piston engines and have a top speed of over 350 miles an hour. The AJ-1 Savage with two turning and one burning was the only carrier based aircraft capable of delivering nuclear warheads. Hi guys RAY in Canada is back....first and other pages are loaded with pics but why the little boxes witn ? marks in them...do I have to click on something to get these to open up and load.....anyone?
THEY look okay I can understand the need for change but now that negates the beautifull and collectable navy blue ballcaps with gold ship letter named on the front....caps that i have a few hundred now and make wonderfull collectors items. Now you can walk down Norfolk streets and piers look at a sailor and never know what ship they are attached to it was always nice to see that. Disappointed but thats life.
hey chaps again all these carrier captions WWI stuff I would love to see but there are blue boxes with ? marks going on. I have logged in and all somethig else I gotta do to get these pic files to open up??
