SAN DIEGO (Oct. 16 2013) The guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) departs Naval Base San Diego on its maiden deployment to the western Pacific Ocean. Spruance is the latest in the line of Arleigh-Burke class destroyers and was named in honor of Adm. Raymond A. Spruance commander of Task Force 16 at the Battle of Midway in World War II and leader of many of the pivotal naval battles that won the war in the Pacific. San Antonio was more than 60 nautical miles away when she was directed to assist arriving on scene at approximately 6 p.m. local time. The wife of Liu Hongkun cries as she holds the portrait of her late husband as she walks out of the ceremony hall of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing capital of China Oct. 17 2013. A funeral of Liu Hongkun and Liu Hongkui two firefighters who were killed while putting out a fire in a market on Oct. 11 was held here on Thursday. The fire broke out in a market in Shijingshan District of Beijing last Friday. The two firemen went into the market to check the situation and lost contact with the others. Their bodies later were found under debris on the fourth floor of the market. So far no market employees have been reported injured or dead. (Xinhua/Zhang Yu)
