Burundian troops serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) together with forces of the Somali National Army (SNA) have been mounting 'snap' foot patrols in villages and areas to the east of Baidoa where Al Qaeda-affiliated extremist group Al Shabaab mount attacks against local herdsmen villages and travellers along the busy Baidoa-Mogadishu road. Patrolling in and around the village of Modmoday approx. 40km east of the Biadoa the capital of Somalia's Bay and Bakool Region the AMISOM troops also use the patrols as an opportunity to provide occasional free medical treatment and fresh potable drinking water for residents in the area. Below there is a photo I made today. It is simple photography made without any artistic reason. I just wanted to show something to you. First day of November is a very special day in Poland. We call it "All saints day" and today people in Poland visit graves of our ancestors. It is very old holiday - from pre-Christian times (it was called "Dziady before Poland was Christianized). On that day Poles are traveling even thousands kilometers to visit cemeteries and light a fire on a grave (as a symbol of remembrance).
This photo shows graves of German soldiers died in WW1. Before WW2 Wrocław was a German city but now it is Polish one. Some old German graves still exists at local cemeteries and as you can see these graves are not forgotten though there are almost no Germans in this city today. They were not Polish soldiers it is also possible that they were our enemies during Wielkopolska Uprising or Silesian Uprising but it is not important now. On that day we remember all people who died we pray for their souls and we light a symbols of remembrance on their graves.
Very nice Smok.
RPA's Reach New Heights
The Air Force community that operates remotely piloted aircraft or RPA's has reached a new milestone 2 million hours of operation. A handful of Air National Guard units across the nation contributed to this significant accomplishment. Story by SrA Rachel Maxwell.
Seriously what is with the former Soviet states and their hats? It looks like a collaborator Kepi had a lovechild with a Schirmmtze. Those things are huge!
