Islamic Republic of Iran Armed Forces Page 20-21

Erik Sleivks

At my office we ask each employee for their work history resume and then perform a background check. We use another agency for our transportation needs. You could say that we outsource our transportation services to another company. I dont have the same driver everyday there are 5 different drivers and they routinely change. My point being that Ive heard drivers talk about being in the air force but I never personally checked the facts to make sure he was in fact who he claims to be. But since youre in charge of conducting interviews hiring and performing background checks I take your word for it as you must have spoken someone from the Iranian Air force who confirmed that your driver was in fact in the air force.

Surely being in charge of maintaining or even being close to Iranian Air force is considered having sensitive information and thats why the Iranian Air force is some what of a mystery to the West and others around the world. By being taking care of I mean having top notch pensions retirement plans. The government will often provide them with free automobiles subsidized property free college for their kids and ect..

Hey VEVAK how does it feel knowing you betrayed your own culture history and people?

Nice flag there....

Persian Snipers

How have I betrayed my culture history and people ?

Kypchak TURKI don't understand it why doesn't Iran reverse engineer the Mig 29?

only thing it ever shot down was cessnas

The Ministry of Intelligence and National Security (Islamic Republic of Iran. It is also known as VEVAK. It is an important part of the Iranian government's security apparatus and is well funded and equipped.

You support the ones that oppress and beat our people for not following that Islamic ****.

WOW! I also had many relatives that died defending abadan I had relatives in the army back then and still do.

         It will stay that way.

Persian SnipersTheres a difference between dying for your country and Oppressing your people for Islam.

Wait you are Abadani? Like my Avatar? HA. SANAT!

Half my family is from Abadan other half is Rashti.

Persian SnipersHalf my family is from Abadan other half is Rashti.

Well to the Abadani side... "Salam kaka".... and to the Rashti side... got any sisters? HAHAHA.

Let me ask you a question would you think its okay is the U.S. "liberated Iran" that Soldiers would go AWAL.

I say let em take it.

Persian Snipers

You should know that.

Persian Snipers

You are forgetting the most important part. Nobody likes their country take over by foreigners. No matter who the government is. Also the Pasdaran are very powerful they would stand and fight (and die). Nothing could make the Islamic Republic stronger than external support or invasion.

Give it time the economics and age of the people will take care of the Islamic part of the Islamic Republic. Eventually the younger generations will take over and moderate things kind of like China. Because the current regieme has no problem killing everyone who stands up to it and the people know that. As long as they keep their heads down and dont speak out against the government they are actually pretty free (compared to the rest of the ME) and your average Iranian with a wife and kids does not want to get killed if they can lead a peaceful life without rocking the boat.

Attacking Iran is foolish and holding it almost impossible. Is the US going to invade Iran with 500000 troops plus? I dont think so.

Sanat-e-naft

However we will have a few spasms (and troubles) with the government before any younger generations takes over.
Why is your username VEVAK?

Just explain that and i'm gone.

Persian Snipers

Why is your username Persian Snpiers ?

The only problem they have is to import enough trailers to transport the many thousands “mass-produced” from parade to parade.

The  is an Iranian produced version of the C-701 medium range land based anti-ship missile. It is speculated that a Kowsar scored a hit on the Israeli corvette Hanit during the 2nd Lebanon War.

I don't understand it why doesn't Iran reverse engineer the Mig 29?

3 years ago sounds doesn't sound right . I too had drivers in Iran who calimed to be in the army airforce and have connections in higher authority but I never really believed them. Some of these drivers make up stories to make you feel sorry for them or for other reasons. The only way to be sure is to have actuall evidence which shows he was in the airforce. I would of believed your story if this driver retired from the airforce 15 + years ago . But now the government takes care of people who have access to sensative information such as your drivers fearing that they mighht open their mouth because of reprecautions . What kind of sensitive information are you talking about for a helicopter pilot flying a 30 years old US helicopter?

praticaly they don't have blue water capabilities lol how they think they can compet with a modern enemy in the battlefield (like the usa?!?)

Are the Hawk and Rapier still in use? No problems with spareparts?

Is Iran satisfied with the Thor M1?

SnoshiRapier good? It has a range of 7km and ceiling of 3km... That is way too little.

AlexFFfor short range (7km) its a good system

Nope its outdated.. It entered service in 1971... There are tons of other more mobile SHORAD's that are better then Rapier.

In many ways I find it amazing (maybe it is good Iranian communication skills) that page after page we are looking at military hardware that in other countries have been in the bone yard for several years but in Iran (and by its supporters) one can parade all this stuff as it was the latest and the best there is.

I have worked in the Iranian industry for many years and I think that I know quite well their strong and weak points (obviously there are both). But I must admit my pure admiration for their capability of  selling BS as if it was the real thing or maybe it is just that some guys desperately wants to believe it.

Rapier is in the same class and generation as Crotale SAM-8 and Roland 2. Roland 2 have 6 km range while Crotale and SAM-8 have 12+ km range. As I read China sell to Iran their version of Crotale and don't mix Crotale with Crotale NG.

SnoshiRapier good? It has a range of 7km and ceiling of 3km... That is way too little.

I agree. For semi mobile SHORAD system with this kind of guidance this range is really to short especially if we have in mind that some MANPADs like Igla-s and Mistral have 6 km range and work passively. I think here Iran made good move to produce the new generation of chinese MANPADs which could do this job better than Rapier. Anyone know what is the status of RBS-70 in iranian army?

Iran has Tor-m1

which is a much superior short range anti-air defence system than rapier

I just wanted to say thanks this is an interesting and extremely informative thread. I have gotten quite an education from it. It's to look at cool stuff like this that I got this Internet connection in the first place (well that and for music). I hope to see many more threads and pics like it.

AlexFF

Why Iran didn't bought the Buk 1M system? It has a further range and can reach a higher altitude. Was it too expensive or has the system become obsolate?
