Undercover Israeli policemen detain a Palestinian during clashes in the Arab east Jerusalem neighbourhood of Ras al-Amud February 28 2014. Three Palestinian protesters were detained on Friday during the clashes after they threw stones towards Israeli policemen a police spokesman said. Israeli security forces were on high alert on Friday ahead of prayers in the Old City of Jerusalem placing an age limit on Palestinian men wanting to enter the Old City allowing only males above the age of 50 to enter. The tension comes after an attempt earlier in the week by an Israeli right-wing member of parliament to introduce a bill that calls for the application of Israeli sovereignty over the al-Aqsa mosque compound located in the Old City.
